First Generation:
The first generation of the Camaro was during 1967-1969. It was a time when muscle cars, drag racing cars, and road racing cars were becoming popular. The 1967 and 1969 Camaro models also each served at the Indy 500 pace car, creating a long lasting relationship with Chevrolet and Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Second Generation:
The longest running model in Camaro history was the second generation, running from 1970-1981. The European-influenced styling gave the Camaro it’s best year ever in 1979 with 282,571 sold.

Third Generation:
The third generation Camaro ran from 1982 -1992. It premiered an all-new architecture with a more aggressive styling. This was also the generation that introduced the first Camaro hatchback.

Fourth Generation:
The fourth generation improved the Camaro’s performance with higher-power engines. The new style incorporated a fast-raked windshield, which gave the car a sleeker profile. The fourth generation ran from 1993 – 2002, and the car saw a redesign in 1998.

Fifth Generation:
The Camaro saw a hiatus from 2002 to 2009, until the newest 2010 model was introduced. The fifth generation ran from 2010 to 2015 and focused more on the heritage of the performance vehicle. The fifth generation Camaro went on to sell more than 500,000 models and outpaced its rivals for 5 years in a row.

Sixth Generation:
We now welcome the newest generation with the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro. This Camaro features a stronger architecture, top of the line technologies, and the highest-ever levels of performance. Chevrolet Announced Their Partnership With Country Music Star Luke Bryan

OKEMOS, Mich. - At the 2016 Country Music Association Festival Chevrolet sponsored the Riverfront stage, providing wide range of Country Music performers. What fans did not expect was that later Chevrolet announced their partnership with Country Music star Luke Bryan. On June 10th Chevrolet revealed musician Luke Bryan had become the brand ambassador for the next three years. 

Bryan has already worked with Chevrolet as part of their 24 hours of Leap Day in their #DayitForward campaign. Bryan visited Fire Station No. 2 in Franklin, Tennessee to thank them for their services in the community. Along with providing lunch for the fire fighters, Bryan also handed out signed albums and was given a tour of the firehouse.

Chevrolet is sponsoring Bryan’s upcoming Farm Tour that will take place in multiple cities. This is the 8th Annual Farm Tour, in which Bryan stops in rural areas and performs on farmlands. Proceeds from the tickets purchased are granted for local college scholarships for the students from the farming communities visited on the tour.

Both Chevrolet and Luke Bryan are excited for the experience of working together in the future. “Chevy has been a part of our family and a part of our work life on the farm for as long as I can remember. If you were a Bryan, you drove a Chevy,” said Bryan when asked about his relationship with the automaker. Try to understand where they are coming from and let them guide you into being a more thoughtful driver.

Practice, Practice, Practice
You may have passed your driver’s test but you are still new at driving alone. The best way to get comfortable behind the wheel of a vehicle is to practice everyday. Start with short trips to the grocery store or other places around town that you have been to before. Also practice small trips on the highway. Remember that just because you have your driver’s license doesn’t mean you don’t have to drive around with mom and dad in the passenger seat.

Be Aware of Driving Distractions and Safety Hazards
We know it is fun to have your friends with you, and how tempting it is to drive across the country with them once you have your license. However, having a car full of your friends is a serious distraction. Other distractions include eating while driving and using a mobile device. Chevrolet Put The 2016 Silverado’s Steel Bed To The Test

OKEMOS, Mich. -- Chevrolet has always taken pride in their toughest pick up truck, the Silverado. Recently, Chevrolet put the 2016 Silverado’s steel bed to the test. Chevrolet wanted to show consumers the strengths and benefits of a steel bed, opposed to an aluminum bed made by other competitor truck models. To test both pick up truck beds, Chevrolet dropped 825 pounds of landscaping blocks from the same distance on to the trucks. The results were clear. The 2016 Chevrolet Silverado’s steel truck bed held up much better than the competitor’s aluminum bed. Take a look below at the benefits of having a steel truck bed:

Steel bed formation. Chevy’s Silverado truck bed is made from a high strength steel alloy material. The steel bed is geometrically formed with a strategically roll-forming process that enhances the steel material strength of the bed.

Steel could withstand more joules of impact. During the testing the steel bed could withstand up to 90 joules of impact energy. The aluminum bed could only withstand 30 joules of impact energy. This proved that the steel bed could hold up more impact with any kind of job or obstacle it would be faced with during everyday use.

Minor impact after landscaping block test. When Chevrolet tested the truck beds during the landscaping block test, the Silverado’s steel bed resulted in having scratches and dents. The aluminum bed showed scratches, dents, and even small punctures after viewing the results.

Lesser impact after toolbox test. Chevrolet performed an additional toolbox test. They dropped a metal toolbox from the same position on the side of the truck beds. The aluminum truck bed saw sizable punctures and gouges. The steel bed showed only small or minor puncturing, nothing that would result in a major repair service.

Chevrolet Introduces a New Intake System to Boost Performance in the 2017 Silverado HD

OKEMOS, Mich. – As Chevrolet prepares for the new versions of their Silverado trucks they incorporate a way to take the performance of the pick up to a new level. In doing so, Chevrolet introduces a new intake system to boost performance in the 2017 Silverado HD. Based on extensive testing and real world driving conditions, the new intake system provides dry air for the engine so it can sustain performance when driving in difficult conditions.

The new air intake system is designed to provide dry cool air into the engine. Below you can take a look at why the cooler air is beneficial to the Silverado and what new designs are required to provide a better performance. 

Benefits of new air intake system:
The new air intake system not only provides cool air, but the air transfers through the system dry and clean as well. To maximize the performance on the Silverado HD engine, the water and moisture is separated from the air to make sure that only combustion-enhancing dry air is delivered. Having cooler air for the diesel engine helps the Silverado maintain full power and speed while trailering heavy loads. 

New Design:
To provide dry, clean, cooler air, the 2017 Silverado HD has a dramatic hood scoop that pulls air from the outside into the intake system. Inside the air filter draws 40 percent more air from a dry location in one of the front fenders. The hood inlet combines the cool and dry air before funneling into the Duramax’s combustion chambers.

Recently Chevrolet revealed the Silverado High Desert package, which brings unique capabilities to the Silverado special editions line up. By offering more choices, Chevrolet can transform the Silverado pick up truck unlike any other brand.

The Silverado High Desert package offers the utility of a pick up truck, with the luxury of a suburban. See how the lockable and water proof cargo system, and available ride control suspension features for High Country models, can amplify your Silverado utility experience like never before.

All New Storage System
The Silverado High Desert package comes with a flexible, lockable storage system in the cargo bed of the pick up truck. The storage system locks cargo away and safely protects it from many different elements. A cargo divider can be raised to help you secure smaller items and lowers to give access to the entire bed floor. Also on special Silverado LT, LTZ, and High Country models the tailgate can be locked with a keyfob.

Magnetic Ride Control Suspension
Available with the Silverado High Desert package is also the Magnetic Ride Control suspension. The suspension system provides precise body motion control giving you a smoother ride. Sensors in the suspension system “read” the road as you drive, providing road condition information to electronically controlled shock absorbers.
