Chevrolet Announced Their Partnership With Country Music Star Luke Bryan

OKEMOS, Mich. - At the 2016 Country Music Association Festival Chevrolet sponsored the Riverfront stage, providing wide range of Country Music performers. What fans did not expect was that later Chevrolet announced their partnership with Country Music star Luke Bryan. On June 10th Chevrolet revealed musician Luke Bryan had become the brand ambassador for the next three years. 

Bryan has already worked with Chevrolet as part of their 24 hours of Leap Day in their #DayitForward campaign. Bryan visited Fire Station No. 2 in Franklin, Tennessee to thank them for their services in the community. Along with providing lunch for the fire fighters, Bryan also handed out signed albums and was given a tour of the firehouse.

Chevrolet is sponsoring Bryan’s upcoming Farm Tour that will take place in multiple cities. This is the 8th Annual Farm Tour, in which Bryan stops in rural areas and performs on farmlands. Proceeds from the tickets purchased are granted for local college scholarships for the students from the farming communities visited on the tour.

Both Chevrolet and Luke Bryan are excited for the experience of working together in the future. “Chevy has been a part of our family and a part of our work life on the farm for as long as I can remember. Chevrolet Put The 2016 Silverado’s Steel Bed To The Test

OKEMOS, Mich. -- Chevrolet has always taken pride in their toughest pick up truck, the Silverado. Recently, Chevrolet put the 2016 Silverado’s steel bed to the test. Chevrolet wanted to show consumers the strengths and benefits of a steel bed, opposed to an aluminum bed made by other competitor truck models. To test both pick up truck beds, Chevrolet dropped 825 pounds of landscaping blocks from the same distance on to the trucks. The results were clear. The 2016 Chevrolet Silverado’s steel truck bed held up much better than the competitor’s aluminum bed. Take a look below at the benefits of having a steel truck bed:

Steel bed formation. Chevy’s Silverado truck bed is made from a high strength steel alloy material. The steel bed is geometrically formed with a strategically roll-forming process that enhances the steel material strength of the bed.

Steel could withstand more joules of impact. During the testing the steel bed could withstand up to 90 joules of impact energy. The aluminum bed could only withstand 30 joules of impact energy. This proved that the steel bed could hold up more impact with any kind of job or obstacle it would be faced with during everyday use.

Minor impact after landscaping block test. When Chevrolet tested the truck beds during the landscaping block test, the Silverado’s steel bed resulted in having scratches and dents. The aluminum bed showed scratches, dents, and even small punctures after viewing the results.

Lesser impact after toolbox test. Chevrolet performed an additional toolbox test. They dropped a metal toolbox from the same position on the side of the truck beds. The aluminum truck bed saw sizable punctures and gouges. The steel bed showed only small or minor puncturing, nothing that would result in a major repair service.

Chevrolet and OnStar Redefine Vehicle Maintenance

By collecting small amounts of data every time your vehicle starts, the Proactive Alert can monitor your vehicle on an ongoing basis. If any irregularities are detected, OnStar will notify you to take your vehicle in for maintenance. Drivers are notified by an in-vehicle notification, and by email or test message. This benefits not just the drivers but dealership service departments as well. Now dealer service departments can spend less time diagnosing the vehicle’s problem and get customers on the road faster.

Chevrolet Silverado Revealed the Special Rally Edition

OKEMOS, Mich. – Since 2015 Chevrolet has been launching multiple special editions of their Silverado pickup truck. These special editions are another way Chevrolet is appealing to a younger and more affluent consumer. With an announcement at the Texas Motor Speedway, Chevrolet Silverado revealed the special Rally Edition.

The Silverado Rally Edition is a more street-performance style truck. The Rally 1 and Rally 2 versions feature a monochromatic exterior and minimal chrome accents. Their black five-spoke wheels come in sizes up to 22 inches. The exteriors feature hood and side black stripes as well as side steps. This new sporty look of the Rally 1 is featured on the Silverado Double cab, whereas the Rally 2 is available on the LT Z71 for crew cab and double cab.

When Chevrolet Silverado revealed the special Rally Edition at the Texas Motor Speedway they created a popular voting contest with the other special edition trucks. Each truck was paired off with a different professional Chevrolet Racing driver. The Silverado Realtree Edition was paired with Austin Dillon. The Midnight Editions were split giving the Silverado 1500 to Kyle Larson and the Silverado 2500 to Kasey Kahne. Finally the Silverado Rally Edition was campaigned by Dale Earnhardt Jr. The four drivers then pushed for to fans to vote for their represented truck on the Chevy Truck twitter page. The contest ended on April 8th with the Silverado Midnight 2500HD ultimately taking home the win.

2016 Silverado Featuring eAssist Technology

OKEMOS, Mich. - Better fuel economy is no longer for the small and electrical cars. Chevrolet has announced a limited number of 2016 Silverados featuring eAssist technology. These new eAssist Silverados will provide a mild hybrid system improving city fuel economy by up to 13%.

The new mild hybrid electrical system pulls technology from other Chevrolet electrical vehicles like the Malibu Hybrid and Chevy Volt. Now consumers who use trucks in a more urban driving location will get the fuel efficiency they deserve.

New technologies for the Silverado eAssist include:

• On-board Electric motor – Provides 13 hp and 44lb-ft of power during accelerating and passing. 
• Start/ Stop Capability – The engine adds fuel savings by turning off when stopped at a traffic light, or in heavy traffic. It turns back on when pressing the accelerator. 
• Regenerative Braking – Energy recovered during braking is turned into electricity to recharge onboard battery system by using the on-board electrical motor. 

As of now, Chevrolet will only offer 500 2016 Silverado featuring aAssist technology exclusively through California dealers. After reviewing feedback from initial customers Chevrolet will consider adjusting production for a 2017 model.
