OKEMOS, Mich. –– The Special Edition Chevy trucks you love will soon be joined by similar style SUVs and crossovers, as Chevrolet has announced Special Edition SUVs for 2017. Next in line to become Special Edition vehicles are the 2017 Chevrolet Equinox and the 2017 Chevrolet Traverse. The Equinox will be offered in a Midnight and Sports Edition, while the Traverse will be offered in a Graphite Edition. The 2017 Chevrolet Equinox will be featured in two Special Editions: The Midnight Edition which comes with a Mosaic Black Metallic exterior, and the Sport Edition that will come in Summit White. Both of the Equinox Special Editions will be available only on LT models and comes with the required Convenience Package. Here are some features you will see in both Special Edition models:

The 2017 Chevrolet Traverse will be offered in a new Graphite Edition. Chevrolet Topped the J.D. Power Initial Quality Study

OKEMOS, Mich. – Chevrolet has proven again that they reign supreme when it comes to quality and reliability. From February to May of 2016 Chevrolet vehicles were put to the test and the results proved that Chevrolet topped the J.D. Power Initial Quality Study. Taking home leading numbers in four different segments, Chevrolet has more vehicle models in the highest ranking in its segments than any other brand. This is also the fourth consecutive year in a row that Chevrolet has taken home more J.D. Power Initial Quality awards than other vehicle brands. Take a look below at the vehicles that brought home the awards in their segment:

Silverado:
The Silverado 1500 and the Silverado HD both received top remarks for their light-duty and heavy-duty truck segments and ultimately sweeping the full-size truck categories. 

Tahoe:
The Tahoe dominated the SUV segment by earning 19 points higher than the point average. The Tahoe also won the award in its segment overall.

Equinox:
Tied for the lead in the compact SUV segment, the Equinox scored 15 points better than the segment average.

Spark:
The highest winner of the study was the Chevrolet Spark. The Spark won it’s city car segment with a skyrocketing win that was 48 points higher than the segment’s average. 

The J.D. Power Initial Quality Study has ran for 30 years by examining problems that may be experienced by vehicle owners. During the vehicle’s 90 day testing, the study is performed on over 100 cars, trucks, SUVs, and crossovers. The study is organized into eight problem categories and works to provide manufacturers with information to help identify problems and improve their product. Chevrolet topped the J.D. Power Initial Quality Study for 2016, and looks to take the lead again for more years to come.

Chevrolet and OnStar Redefine Vehicle Maintenance

OKEMOS, Mich. – We may not be able to predict the future, but Chevrolet cars can. As Chevrolet and OnStar redefine vehicle maintenance with a new Proactive Alert that will warn you of potential maintenance needs before they occur. With similar technology as the Boeing 787, new 2016 Chevrolet models will have monitoring systems watching your vehicle.

The new OnStar Proactive Alert system monitors the health of your vehicle. It watches your vehicle’s starter motor, fuel pump, and 12-volt battery. The system has the intelligence to know the difference between a low state of charge that can be solved by driving for a short time, and a high electrical resistance that can lead to a batter replacement. 

By collecting small amounts of data every time your vehicle starts, the Proactive Alert can monitor your vehicle on an ongoing basis. If any irregularities are detected, OnStar will notify you to take your vehicle in for maintenance. Drivers are notified by an in-vehicle notification, and by email or test message. This benefits not just the drivers but dealership service departments as well. Now dealer service departments can spend less time diagnosing the vehicle’s problem and get customers on the road faster.

Customers can truly experience how Chevrolet and OnStar redefine vehicle maintenance with the new Proactive Alerts featured in 2016 Chevrolet vehicles. The Proactive Alert is offered with the 2016 Chevrolet Silverado, Suburban, Tahoe, Corvette, and Equinox. It is also offered with all OnStar service plans with each of these models. Chevrolet and OnStar are currently working on future plans for the Proactive Alerts like monitor additional vehicle components and covering additional models.
