The RST Special Edition will be available for the 2017 Tahoe and Suburban models this Fall, for those who want street performance styling and better performance capability. This new Special Edition from Chevy was inspired by popular aftermarket trends in the SUV segment. Some of cosmetic details include the black mirror caps, black bowties, black roof rails, black window trim, the body-color grille surround and door handles, badging, and the beautiful 22-inch wheels.
Aside from the sporty look, there are performance upgrades that come with the RST Special Edition that'll help give you that true street performance feel. The 2017 Tahoe and Suburban RST will come with a Borla exhaust system for that deep growl you desire and exhaust flow improvement by 28%. The RST will deliver with a 7-10 hp gain in the rear wheels. As you can see in the picture directly above, there is an available Brembo brake package, which includes huge front red six-piston Brembos and large Duralife rotors that are great for reduced corrosion, quieter braking, and less braking vibration.
With the Tahoe RST, you can get a exclusive performance package with Magnetic Ride Control, performance calibration, and a new 6.2L V8 10L80 10-speed automatic transmission. The 10-speed allows for smaller steps between gears meaning a more smooth and confident acceleration. This transmission, as a bonus, also improves engine efficiency at highway speeds. This package will deliver some serious power, with 420 hp, 460 lb-ft of torque, and 0-60 mph acceleration in under 6 seconds - pretty incredible for a large SUV!
