Chevrolet Introduces a New Intake System to Boost Performance in the 2017 Silverado HD

OKEMOS, Mich. – As Chevrolet prepares for the new versions of their Silverado trucks they incorporate a way to take the performance of the pick up to a new level. In doing so, Chevrolet introduces a new intake system to boost performance in the 2017 Silverado HD. Based on extensive testing and real world driving conditions, the new intake system provides dry air for the engine so it can sustain performance when driving in difficult conditions.

The new air intake system is designed to provide dry cool air into the engine. Below you can take a look at why the cooler air is beneficial to the Silverado and what new designs are required to provide a better performance.

Benefits of new air intake system:
The new air intake system not only provides cool air, but the air transfers through the system dry and clean as well. To maximize the performance on the Silverado HD engine, the water and moisture is separated from the air to make sure that only combustion-enhancing dry air is delivered. Having cooler air for the diesel engine helps the Silverado maintain full power and speed while trailering heavy loads.

New Design:
To provide dry, clean, cooler air, the 2017 Silverado HD has a dramatic hood scoop that pulls air from the outside into the intake system. Inside the air filter draws 40 percent more air from a dry location in one of the front fenders. The hood inlet combines the cool and dry air before funneling into the Duramax’s combustion chambers.

As Chevrolet Introduces a new intake system to boost performance in the 2017 Silverado HD, you can get your hands on a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD at Graff Chevrolet Okemos. You will love the towing capabilities, premium comfortable cabin, and the strength that is known for the Chevy name. Stop by our dealership and test drive the heavy-duty pick up truck today!

Chevrolet Revealed The Silverado High Desert Package

OKEMOS, Mich. – Just when we thought Chevrolet couldn't make the Silverado any better they came up with another way to make our jaws drop. Recently Chevrolet revealed the Silverado High Desert package, which brings unique capabilities to the Silverado special editions line up. By offering more choices, Chevrolet can transform the Silverado pick up truck unlike any other brand.

The Silverado High Desert package offers the utility of a pick up truck, with the luxury of a suburban. See how the lockable and water proof cargo system, and available ride control suspension features for High Country models, can amplify your Silverado utility experience like never before.

All New Storage System
The Silverado High Desert package comes with a flexible, lockable storage system in the cargo bed of the pick up truck. The storage system locks cargo away and safely protects it from many different elements. A cargo divider can be raised to help you secure smaller items and lowers to give access to the entire bed floor. Also on special Silverado LT, LTZ, and High Country models the tailgate can be locked with a keyfob.

Magnetic Ride Control Suspension
Available with the Silverado High Desert package is also the Magnetic Ride Control suspension. The suspension system provides precise body motion control giving you a smoother ride. Sensors in the suspension system “read” the road as you drive, providing road condition information to electronically controlled shock absorbers.

Chevrolet revealed the Silverado High Desert package would be available for Silverado LT, LTZ, and High Country Trim Levels. High Desert packages will also be available at dealerships this fall. National Tire Safety Week at Graff Chevrolet Okemos

OKEMOS, Mich. – Your tires are one of the most important components of your vehicle. Not only do they help you get to where you need to be, but also a properly working tire keeps you safe on the road. May 29th through June 4th is National Tire Safety week at Graff Chevrolet Okemos and we are bringing you some tips to keep your tires in good condition. By following the five tips below you will have tires that will last longer and keep you safer on the road.

Routine Tire Rotations
Tire rotations are recommended every 6,000 miles or every other oil change. By having your tires rotated you will help the tire tread wear evenly, you will get better gas mileage, and increase your vehicle performance.

Tire Alignments
Tire alignments help keep your tires straight and parallel to each other. They also allow for your tire tread to wear evenly and provide better fuel efficiency. If you notice your steering wheel pulling to one side or another you can bring your vehicle to our service center for an alignment inspection!

Check Your Tire Tread
Your tire tread helps grip the tires to the road. This is important in road conditions with ice, snow, rain, etc. Without proper tire tread you put your tires at risk of damage and potentially needing a tire replacement. You also put yourself at risk of the vehicle slipping on the road. To learn about how to check your tire tread visit our FAQ page for the steps to the Penny Test.

Check Your Tire Air Pressure
Having proper tire pressure helps your fuel efficiency and enhances the handling of your vehicle. Your vehicle’s Owner’s Manual can provide you the proper air pressure levels that is required for your specific vehicle.

Always Keep A Spare
You never know what will happen when you hit the open road. That is why it is important to always keep a spare tire handy. There are many different types of spare tires you can have for your vehicle. What you should always remember is that no matter what kind of spare tire you have, you should never drive more than 50 miles on the spare tire and never drive over 50 mph.

During National Tire Safety week at Graff Chevrolet Okemos we want to make sure your tires are the best they can be. With proper air pressure and tire tread, as well as routine tire maintenance you will be comfortable knowing your tires are ready for anything. To learn more about tire care and services visit our tire routine maintenance page, where we have videos and information about all of the tire services at our Graff Chevrolet Okemos Service Center.
